Exercise 1

The "law" of E-commerce is young and complex and dependent upon other legal disciplines such as contracts, torts, criminal law, tax, etc. But, before beginning a study and application of E-commerce "law" and its complexities, preset your learning by abandoning any artifical boundaries you believe the subject matter is contained within.

Step 1. Look at the song lyrics of Bucky Halker and remember to focus on the "message" of the song.

Step 2. If the message of the song was a bit unclear to you at this time, visit the slide show and scroll through the slides.

Step 3. Now the serious part -- read the Electronic Commerce Tutorial (http://www.webdevelopersjournal.com/columns/ecommerce1.html) then answer the question in Step 4.

Step 4.Read and browse the links in the Legal Regulation of Electronic Commerce (http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/soc/law/elj/jilt/1998_3/swindells/).

Based on your readings, is E-commerce international law; comparative law; local law; or customary law? Explain.

Send me an e-mail with your reasoned response (200-300 words).

Send to: ajbolla@gmail.com This is the e-mail I use to receive your work product.

Include your personal identification information in any answer you "attach" to e-mail, otherewise you may not get full credit for your answer.
